Saint-Véran is a village appellation in southern Burgundy, in the Mâconnais region. It straddles several communes in Saône-et-Loire: Davayé, Saint-Amour Bellevue, Leynes, Prissé, Chânes, Chasselas, Saint-Vérand and Solutré-Pouilly. It represents a little over 700 hectares of vineyards .
This is a dry white wine appellation , produced exclusively from the Chardonnay grape . It has a very pale color, and the nose evokes white fruits and white flowers, hazelnut, and almond. The palate is round and mineral with citrus notes and a crisp attack. Saint-Véran pairs very well with seafood (fish, shellfish) and goat cheese.
Domaine Thibert
Domaine Thibert was founded in 1967 by Andrée and René Thibert and is now managed using integrated pest management practices by their children, Christophe and Sandrine. It comprises 23 hectares of vines averaging 40 years old, with a large majority planted to Chardonnay . Domaine Thibert produces several appellations from the southern Mâconnais region , as well as white and rosé Crémant de Bourgogne and a sparkling rosé.
In Saint-Véran, Domaine Thibert vinifies two plots: Champ Rond and Bois de Fée.
