The Château l'Eglise-Clinet vineyard is a haven of meticulously tended vines, stretching across clay-gravel soils that promote excellent drainage and optimal ripening. The vines, primarily Merlot, benefit from a temperate climate, typical of the Bordeaux region, where sunny days and cool nights create ideal conditions for crafting rich and complex wines. Each plot is cultivated with care, respecting the principles of sustainable viticulture, to preserve soil health and grape quality.

Owner and history

Currently managed by the Libourne family, Château l'Eglise-Clinet reflects a rich history and a passion for winemaking. Deeply rooted in the terroir, the owners are committed to producing high-quality wines that respect both tradition and innovation. Their approach focuses on meticulous vineyard management and a careful winemaking process to guarantee the authenticity and uniqueness of each vintage. This commitment to excellence makes Château l'Eglise-Clinet a must-try within the Pomerol appellation.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château l'Eglise-Clinet is a meticulous process, blending tradition and modernity. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management and optimal extraction of aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for approximately 18 months. This crucial stage allows the wine to refine, integrate the tannins, and develop the aromatic complexity for which this wine is renowned. Each vintage is the result of passionate work, striving to capture the very soul of Pomerol.
