The Mazis-Chambertin vineyard is situated on clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The southeast exposure promotes excellent grape ripening while preserving their acidity. The vines, often old, have deep roots in a rich and complex terroir, resulting in wines of great finesse and unparalleled aromatic depth. The surrounding biodiversity also contributes to the health of the vineyard, ensuring a balanced and sustainable ecosystem.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by the seventh generation of the Faiveley family, Frédéric Faiveley. Passionate about his heritage, he has modernized the estate while preserving its traditions. Under his leadership, Faiveley has strengthened its commitment to quality, adopting environmentally friendly practices and focusing on maximizing the potential of each plot. The estate continues to produce exceptional wines, revealing the quintessence of Burgundy's terroir.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Faiveley is an art, blending tradition and modern techniques. The grapes are carefully selected and destemmed before being placed in vats for a slow fermentation, encouraging the expression of aromas. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, to enrich the wine with subtle woody notes. This process results in a harmonious tannic structure and remarkable aromatic complexity, reflecting the exceptional terroir of Mazis-Chambertin.
