    The story of Giulia Negri

    The Barologirl

    Following a trip toBurgundy,Giulia NegriShe set herself the goal of establishing her own estate and producing her own wines. Her family, and especially her father, therefore decided to give her some vineyards inchardonnayandPinot Noirplanted to the north ofSerradenari(which means “silver hill”), in itsPiedmontborn in Italy. In his early days,Giulia Negriwas nicknamed theBarologirl, referring to the fact that she wanted to produce her wines in her own way, in her own image.

    From there,Giuliafocused on the production of his father's vineyards and on theBarolo, on the highest ridge of theBarolo soilVery quickly, her team, mostly composed of women, was formed and the wines ofGiulia Negriwere known and recognized. In its early days, onlymicro-cuvéeswere produced under her own name, until she took over the entire management and production of the vineyard in2014.

The terroir ofSerradenariis located at the highest point of theBarolo, at an altitude of536 metersOriented towardsthe west,the vineyard ofsix hectareshas the ideal conditions for the production ofFresh wines.

    All grape varieties grow onvery diverse soilsIndeed, we find inhilltopsvines facing the wind andcalcareous and silt soilsInbottom of the slope,the soils are rich and sandyIt's thisgreat diversityof terroir which favors grapes with varied character, and therefore ofwines of great complexity.

THEgrape harvestare therefore carried outmanuallyand fermentations are initiated directly by indigenous yeasts.Macerationextends over a period of40 days, within large truncated conical tanks of60 hlRegarding the breeding ofchardonnayand of thePinot Noirit is carried out inbarrels for 12 monthsFor thebarolo, it is raised during30 monthsin oak barrelsSlavonia of 25 hl.
