The 25.5-hectare vineyard is quite fragmented around a magnificent Château situated in a majestic park where calm and tranquility reign. Approximately ten hectares are planted on a clay-gravel subsoil, lending the wine finesse, elegance, and refinement. Another ten hectares rest on a clay-gravel subsoil, contributing to the wine's rounded character. Finally, the most recently acquired vines are planted on clay-gravel subsoil, bringing a more powerful mid-palate to the final blend. The vineyard is planted withMerlotfor 72% and ofCabernet Francfor 22% and ofPetit-Verdotfor 6%. These last two bring to the wine a tannic structure necessary for the wine's balance and a very fresh finish for aPomerol.

Although the estate is owned by SOGECAP, the executive responsibility rests primarily on the shoulders of its manager.Alain Moueix, a trained oenologist – also the owner of Château Fonroque. Under his leadership, the estate has made regular investments to modernize its winemaking facilities, replant, and transform the vineyard. The team of about ten people is managed by two highly experienced professionals:Jean-Michel Bernard(head of cultivation) andLudovic Guibert(cellar master).
