    From the Netherlands to Burgundy

    Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynenleave the Netherlands to settle inBurgundyIn 1976, they gave themselves a year to learn French and train in the wine industry. She had a background in Fine Arts, he in theater and architecture. Their creativity, curiosity, and above all, their passion for wine motivated their rapid learning in the field.

    In 1979, they bought plots of vineyards inPierreclosJean-Marie then took charge of the winemaking. Today, he has become a multifaceted winemaker. He manages everything simultaneously and has succeeded in establishing his wine merchant business among the leading names in the region.

    An instinctive approach to vineyard management

    Over time, Jean-Marie's expertise improved. In 1990, he created this wine merchant business, which he envisioned as haute couture. With this business, the couple was able to increase their production volume. Their own vineyards weren't large enough to cultivate all their appellations.
