Clos des Lambrays
Founded in the 14th century , Domaine des Lambrays is rooted in the heart of the prestigious village of Morey-Saint-Denis , in the Côte de Nuits. First recorded in 1365 in the archives of Cîteaux Abbey, the estate has stood the test of time while maintaining its unique character. Now part of the LVMH group, it combines Burgundian tradition with contemporary ambition: meticulously tended vines, refined winemaking, and a strong identity centered on Pinot Noir. The estate's sustainable and demanding vision makes Lambrays a major player in the Burgundy wine region.
Clos des Lambrays, almost entirely cultivated by the estate, is an exceptional Grand Cru. Covering approximately 8 hectares, it is situated on a terroir with varied soils that impart finesse, depth, and complexity to the wines. Although the estate does not own 100% of the plot, its near-exclusive control makes it a truly exceptional wine. The result of meticulous work, Clos des Lambrays embodies the purest expression of Morey-Saint-Denis: elegance , longevity , and intensity .

“This renowned estate owns almost the entire Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays, from which it produces exceptional wines. Viticulture here is highly precise, with a large part of the vineyard worked by horse. The estate favors a fairly early harvest, but with rigorous sorting; vinification is generally carried out using whole bunches. Succeeding Boris Champy, who himself took over from Thierry Brouin, Jacques Devauges is working to further improve the wines, with more precise work on the individual plots, the transition to organic and biodynamic farming, and the renovation of the winery.”

Winemaking
The estate cultivates its vineyards using sustainable farming practices that respect the terroir. The predominantly limestone and clay-limestone soils support vines with an average age of 60 years, some of which are over a century old and continue to produce exceptionally concentrated grapes. The estate skillfully perpetuates a style of great purity, based on low yields, hand-harvesting, and extended aging of 18 months in French oak barrels, approximately half of which are new.
A jewel of the estate, Clos des Lambrays is renowned for its full-bodied, concentrated character and rare elegance. Its vinification, carried out with meticulous craftsmanship, relies on rigorous hand-selection and natural fermentations to preserve the integrity of the Pinot Noir and the expression of the terroir. This patient expertise results in a wine with a silky texture, admirable depth, and aging potential exceeding twenty years.
