One of the oldest properties in the Haut-Médoc

THEChâteau Cambon la Pelouseis among the oldest vineyards inHaut-Médocand has largely contributed to its prosperity, both in France and abroad, for centuries. Indeed, as early as the 17th century, wines produced on its plots were exported and sold at very high prices in England, and from the 18th century in Holland. It wasn't until the Revolution that it acquired the name we know today, with the purchase of the vineyard by Mr. Cambon, who gave it his name. He also added "La Pelouse," which is the name of the locality near the first plot planted next to the Château. The property suffered a tragic event in 1956 when a devastating frost destroyed the entire vineyard. It wasn't until 1975 that vines, some thirty years old, were replanted. They have also adopted more environmentally friendly, sustainable farming practices. They maintain the vines using integrated pest management techniques, including manual bud thinning, leaf removal, and green harvesting.
