    Description

This Les Chevalières cuvée comes from a mid-slope plot planted with old Chardonnay vines over 50 years old. This maturity gives this Meursault its complexity. Facing due south, the plot benefits from abundant sunshine and a lean clay-limestone soil, guaranteeing aromatic richness and a beautiful structure on the palate. Aging for 15 months on fine lees ensures a great, complex wine, delicious now or for cellaring!

Domaine Louis Jadot , a symbol of Burgundian excellence , is renowned for its authentic wines, reflecting an exceptional terroir.

The Meursault Chevalières vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soils, typical of the region. These mineral-rich soils give the grapes a unique character, promoting optimal ripeness. The vines, several decades old, benefit from a privileged exposure, capturing the sun's warmth while retaining the humidity necessary for the harmonious development of aromas. This terroir, combined with a temperate climate, creates ideal conditions for Chardonnay, resulting in wines of great finesse and beautiful complexity.

    Owner and history

Today, Domaine Louis Jadot is run by the Jadot family, who carry on Louis Jadot's legacy with passion and dedication. The current owners have successfully blended tradition and modernity, preserving time-honored winemaking methods while incorporating innovative practices. They are also committed to environmentally responsible viticulture, aiming to protect this precious terroir for future generations. Their vision is clear: to produce exceptional wines that reflect the unique identity of each Burgundy appellation.

    Vinification and aging

The 2022 Meursault Chevalières is made using traditional methods. After a carefully selected, hand-harvested grape harvest, the grapes are gently pressed to preserve their integrity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, imparting a subtle oak influence while respecting the fruit. This aging process lasts between 10 and 12 months, depending on the vintage, and is carried out under the rigorous supervision of the estate's winemakers. This meticulous attention to detail at each stage allows the wine to fully express the typicity of the Meursault terroir.
