Owner and history

Griotte-Chambertin is one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. Its exceptional terroir, composed of limestone and marl soils, provides excellent drainage and allows the vines to develop deep roots. Thanks to its ideal southeast exposure, the vineyard benefits from optimal sunshine, enabling the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The biodynamic viticulture practiced by Maison Drouhin guarantees a perfect expression of the terroir, resulting in wines of rare elegance and great complexity.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for the 2020 Griotte-Chambertin follows a rigorous approach that blends tradition and innovation. After meticulous hand-harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted before fermentation in vats, with gentle punch-downs to extract the full richness of the fruit. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (20% new oak) for approximately 14 to 18 months, imparting subtle notes of vanilla and spice without masking the purity of the fruit.
