    Owner and history

    Located atop the renowned clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion and at the edge of the town, the château is easily recognizable by its watchtower, which also partly lends its name to the estate. The vineyard covers 10.5 hectares in a single block. The grape varieties planted are 67% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.

    Vinification and aging

    The wine from Château Balestard La Tonelle is vinified in the finest Bordeaux tradition.
    It is aged in new oak barrels (half of which are renewed every year)
