The Château Pape Clément vineyard stretches across gravelly, sandy, and clay soils, benefiting from excellent drainage and ample sun exposure. The vines, some several decades old, are carefully cultivated using sustainable methods, allowing the full potential of this exceptional terroir to be expressed. Bordeaux's temperate oceanic climate, with its hot, dry summers, promotes optimal grape ripening. Each harvest is carried out by hand, ensuring rigorous selection of the berries.

Owner and history

Today, Château Pape Clément is managed by Bernard Magrez, a man passionate about wine and the terroir. Owner of several prestigious estates in France, he has brought a modern touch while respecting the estate's heritage. Under his leadership, Pape Clément has strengthened its international reputation, emphasizing quality and authenticity. His commitment to sustainable viticulture and the pursuit of excellence is reflected in every vintage, making this wine a must-try for Bordeaux enthusiasts.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Pape Clément is a meticulous art. The carefully sorted grapes are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation proceeds slowly, promoting the extraction of aromas and tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 14 to 18 months. This aging process adds complexity and structure while respecting the wine's unique character. Each step is carried out with particular attention, reflecting the estate's pursuit of excellence.
