The Château Troplong Mondot vineyard stretches across clay-limestone soils, ideal for cultivating noble grape varieties. The vines, some several decades old, are carefully cultivated using sustainable methods that promote biodiversity. This unique terroir, bathed in an oceanic climate, allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness, thus guaranteeing the pure expression of aromas in the wine. The diversity of the plots contributes to the complexity of the final product, a reflection of the identity of Saint-Émilion.

    Owner and history

Château Troplong Mondot is currently managed by the Bouard family, who have successfully preserved the estate's heritage while infusing it with a modern vision. Under their leadership, the estate has undergone a true transformation, placing quality at the heart of every decision. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in every bottle, making Troplong Mondot a key player in the Saint-Émilion appellation. Their efforts to preserve the environment and promote biodiversity demonstrate their passion for wine and respect for the terroir.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Troplong Mondot is a crucial step, blending tradition and innovation. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging occurs in French oak barrels, some of which are new, for a period of 12 to 18 months, depending on the vintage. This meticulous process gives the wine its structure and complexity, while preserving the identity of the terroir.
