    Description

A  A classic Pessac-Léognan. The carefully selected grapes for its blend lend it a fresh, fruity character coupled with an elegant structure. Impeccable as a second wine.

95-96/100 pts JAMES SUCKLINGLots of blackcurrant, crushed stone, licorice, iodine, and graphite. Blue fruits too. It is full-bodied, with firm, chewy tannins that are refined and polished. Flawless. Excellent second wine .

93+/100 pts VINOUSVery elegant and refined , with plenty of aromatic nuance and character. Succulent notes of black cherry, rose petal, dried herbs, and menthol energize this Pessac-Léognan. The precision and nuance are superb. Perhaps most importantly, the Haut-Bailly doesn't at all give the impression of being a wine from a hot vintage.

Terroir: sands mixed with Tertiary gravels, with a subsoil rich in faluns (marine fossils). 25 % of the vines are over 100 years old.

    Viticulture: HVE (High Environmental Value)

Winemaking : aged in oak barrels for an average of 12 months. 50 to 65% of the barrels are new.
