THE Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz is the very expression of Australian Shiraz climat Warm: generous, robust and ripe. If Bin 389 is the "Baby Grange", Bin 28 is often considered the pioneer of the "Bin" range of wines, having been first launched in 1959.
Historically named after the famous Kalimna vineyard in the Barossa Valley, Bin 28 is today a multi-vineyard and multi-regional blend.

Tasting notes
The dress of Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 2023 is a deep, almost black red. On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruit, cherry, and spice mingle harmoniously. On the palate, it reveals a velvety texture, with well-integrated tannins and lovely freshness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a lingering impression of candied fruit and spicy notes.

The vineyard of Penfolds is located in the famous Barossa Valley, a wine region of Australia renowned for its rich and varied soils. Shiraz vines thrive in clay and sandy soils, benefiting from a climat Mediterranean, hot and dry. This exceptional terroir allows the grapes to develop intense aromas and beautiful complexity. The vines, some several decades old, are carefully tended to guarantee optimal grape quality.
The team's opinion
A full-bodied and fleshy wine. The palate is filled with flavors of berry jam and licorice. The tannins are rich yet rounded, offering a smooth, creamy texture on the mid-palate. The acidity is just present enough to balance the ripeness of the fruit. A long and warm finish, marked by notes of mocha and tanned leather.
