Gruaud Larose wines captivate us year after year. They offer perfect balance, exquisite finesse, and rare precision. In perfect harmony, floral and dark fruit aromas blend seamlessly with the silky tannins of the Cabernet. One of the vintage's triumphs.

" Gruaud Larose 2021 is a wine of purebred stature. Sepia-toned fruit, spice, new leather, licorice, gravel, dried herbs, pencil shavings, and incense are beautifully amplified. Supple and expansive in the glass, with tremendous energy, the 2021 exudes class. Polished, supple tannins envelop the whole, before a final burst of invigorating acidity prolongs the finish. – Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 94 points/100

Blend: 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

Livestock farming: one and a half years in oak barrels, 80% of which were new wood.

    Owner and history

The vines are approximately 40 years old. The vineyard covers 82 hectares. The fact that the vineyard is contiguous and achieves uniform ripeness and perfect balance in the wines is due to the fact that the vineyard is a single, continuous plot. Château Gruaud Larose has a gravelly, hillocky soil composed of humus, sand, clay, and rolled pebbles. These characteristics provide ideal conditions for the vines.
